In Southwest Florida, outdoor events abound! In our beautiful tropical climate, both locals and tourists alike love being outdoors, soaking up the sun and sights that SWFL has to offer. And what better way to spice up your next outdoor event then with some amazing circus acts and shows?
What is an outdoor event?
Easily, it is an event held outside! This can include anything from initmate backyard birthdays to large public street fairs and festivals. The great news is, no event is too big or too small for circus acts to wow your guests!
What circus acts should I consider for my outdoor event?
There are many great circus act options that play big and wide, such as stilt walking, fire, LED light props, and pop-up aerial rigs for aerial silks, aerial hoop, or solo trapeze! Depending on what you are looking for, these are generally fan-favorite options.
Stilt walkers are great for covering lots of ground. They are mobile and tall, and often times carry interesting props such as juggling clubs and hula hoops. They are generally larger then life characters, and love to interact with party goers and take pictures for your guests to post later and talk about how much they loved your event! Generally, stilt walkers prefer flat surfaces to move around on, such as hard flat grass and pavement.
Fire and LED acts often gain a lot of visual attention, as the lights catch peoples eye and keep them. They generally require a large flat surface, and while LED acts can be performed on almost any surface, asphalt and pavement are best for fire safety. Lastly, and variety of props can be fire or LED, and so this option can be fun as both an installation of movement and a full 20-minute show!
Aerial rigs always draw a crowd. They are large and dynamic, and create visual curiosity before an act even officially begins. The only downside is finding the right location, as they do require a large level surface, usually 20 square feet. However, once the aerial acts begin, crowds always enjoy the sights.
One last thing to consider is a Street Performer Show. These show usually range from 20 to 30 minutes, and are a sure way to draw and keep a crowd in one place. Street style shows are interactive, comedic, and family-friendly. They also include a variety of acts performed in one show. As the event host, you also may have options of allowing the performers to collect tips (depending on the type of event you are hosting!), which could help keep your overall costs down. You may even wish to have the performer do two or three shows at set times throughout the event for fairs and festivals and camps, or perhaps just one all-in show at a birthday or intimate celebration!
